“Artsakh Blockade” competition of artworks by “Eye for an Eye” doc community is expanding and evolving into “Justice for the Region.”
“Justice for the Region” contest accepts any work of non-fiction – film, photograph, performance, installation, song, painting, dance, writing, etc. – that will relate to the aggression and destabilization that Turkey and Azerbaijan bring to the region.
The works may address injustices against Armenians, Greeks, Cypriots, Alevis, Yezidis, Assyrians, Talyshes, Syrians, Kurds, Iraqis, Libyans, Arabs, Serbs, as well as Christians, considering that it is typical of Turkey and Azerbaijan to turn churches into mosques, destroying heritages.
The competition also accepts works that address the genocide of Palestine by Israel and injustices happening locally in Armenia and in the Diaspora.
A prize of 120,000 AMD ($300) will be awarded to 3 best works, and 50,000 AMD ($125) to another five. The prize fund will expand before the end of the competition, and new prizes will be established.
The deadline for the contest is September 21, 2024.
